History
In 1987, the power of clever advertising raised awareness for some important causes—and snagged a place in popular culture with commercials featuring talking crash test dummies (Buckle Up PSA) and “This is your brain on drugs” (Partnership for a Drug Free America).
That same year, Jack Fristoe launched Timbers & Fristoe, a two-man executive search firm specializing in marketing, advertising and public relations.
Jack’s background as a former advertising executive and his passion for this uniquely creative and powerful industry helped the firm to thrive. In 1993, he invited another veteran of the advertising industry, Robert Carleton, to join the company. Carleton became partner two years later and they renamed the firm Fristoe & Carleton. The two led the company to become one of the leading niche executive search firms in the country.
In 2000, Jill Grimm left her own successful career in advertising account management and joined the partners as an executive recruiter. Tami Tam joined the firm in 2002 and was promoted to Executive Recruiter in 2005.
Jill assumed leadership in 2010, launching the next generation of the firm and marking the transition by renaming it F&C Executive Search and Recruiting, LLC.
Recently, F&C was chosen as one of the Best 25 Recruiter Sites for Marketing, Advertising and PR Pros by Marketing Sherpa, a nationally-recognized Web marketing research company.
“We’re more than advertising headhunters or marketing recruiters,” said Jill. “We help people pursue their passion, whether it’s writing and designing a cutting-edge campaign or leading an entire marketing team to success. I love learning what inspires people in their careers and helping them find a company that shares their enthusiasm for their profession. When the chemistry works—and a match is made—I’m as excited as my candidates and clients are.”
